My experience with selling homes without a realtor.  My husband and I have sold eight homes without a realtor in the last 15 years. How did we do it?  When we needed to sell our first home, everyone we knew suggested hiring an agent. Many realtors were recommended to us. Friends and family led us to believe that that was the only way to sell a home. After doing some research, we decided we should try to sell the home ourselves. We wanted to try! Back then, KSL classifieds were the only local marketing venue online. It took us about two months to sell our home and the paperwork wasn't as bad as we were led to believe. Since then, it has become easier to sell our homes and with social media marketing, it is even easier than before! Last month we sold our eighth home on our own and it only took us three weeks! Because we sold it without an agent, we saved ourselves over $18,000. The money we saved is the biggest motivation to sell on our own. We are due to close the first week in Dece

What I do for self-care

Image
Just a few years ago, I had no idea what self-care was. I viewed it as something I would feel guilty about doing. I didn't understand that in order to recharge and keep my emotions in check, I had to take a step back. Taking time off for me just sounded selfish. I felt I needed to be busy and just go, go, go. My perception of self-care suddenly changed cour years ago.  Four years ago I joined a 12 step support group for spouses of addicts. I learned why it was necessary to practice self-care and how. When I am feeling run down, empty, and/or unhappy, that's the time I need to take a step back and take care of myself spiritually, emotionally and physically. For me, exercise has become my favorite form of self-care. Why? Because it helps melt my stress and worries away and I always feel great afterward. I gain a sense of accomplishment. Exercise for me has become about strength and health and less about looking fit. I have been weight lifting at home for the last five year

My family in 2019

Image
It's been nine years since I last blogged. Nine years of so many changes and additions to my family. Bentley was born in January 2010 and made me a mom. He is such a great kid and loves to be creative. Penelope joined our family in October 2011. I was so excited to have a daughter and she continues to be my little best friend. Piper then decided to join us and was born in February 2014. She is such a spunky, independent little girl. She's so much fun to be around. Lastly, my baby Marissa completed our family in September 2015. She has tried my patience so many times but she's also a mama's girl and loves to cuddle me. Since that last blog post in October 2010, we have moved twice. We lived in Springville for about 7 years and our house got a little too small for our growing family. In 2014, after Piper was born, we moved to Spanish Fork. We lived in that home for three and a half years. I loved that home! We renovated from top to bottom. It was a painful process fil

SURPRISE!!!!!! Say what!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

OK, this will be a short post but I need to write down what has happened since I last blogged, which I'm pretty sure was almost two years ago!!!! Time flies. Well , so I got pregnant and had my little baby Bentley Cameron Teeples on January 15th, 2010. He is now 9 months old. I know it is unforgivable to not have blogged about my baby boy before, but here I am, wanting to write everything about this most special little boy. He makes me laugh and smile every day. It makes me love Cam more and more as I watch him look at, play with, care for, and love this small person. Bentley was born a very healthy boy. He started smiling at 5 days old, crawled at 6 months, got his first tooth at 8 months, and now pulls himself up and can stand unassisted for a few seconds. He loves to make a mess wherever he is playing and loves to play with the remote control, computer keyboard, and mouse. Oh and can't forget, he loves to eat paper! He has changed my life forever and I wouldn't have it a

Logan!

Logan is finally here! My poor sister could not carry him any longer. We were expecting an average 7 lb baby but he shocked us when he came out weighing over 9 lbs! I'm an auntie for the fifth time. Time does fly! We've been staying pretty busy this month. First of all, my dear Cameron broke his thumb playing indoor soccer. He had surgery about a month ago and his thumb is healing well. I will kill him if he breaks it again. That hospital bill is not small! Glad that we have savings. I've also started going to the gym, well, sort of. I signed up last month and so far I've gone a total of 4 times! I'm averaging once a week. Yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself ( I'm saying this with a sarcastic tone). I'm still not prego. No bun in the oven. I am not "stuffed" as Cam would say. It's ok. Babies will come when they come. Oh yeah! Today is Marc's Birthday. Wow he is now 28. Congrats Marcus. You're the best and you and Nan make cute babies.

January update

It's been a fast month so I don't know where to begin. Cam and I spent a free weekend trip at the Zermatt resort in midway, thanks to my sis in law Bethany. Her grandparents own a room and she hooked us up. It was so relaxing after having a full house for a couple of weeks. My grandma, aunt and cousin from Texas spent the holidays with us. They were a lot of fun, especially since I don't get to see them often. Wow I think that really was the only exciting thing we've done this month!! We hit our second year anniversary on Dec. 27th!!! Woohooo! Time flies. No kiddos yet, but we are trying. Hopefully we'll have good news sometime this year :). Oh yeah, I can't forget about this...... We got an antenna so now we can watch 4 channels. Fox 13, 11, 9, and channel 7! Yeah we totally got the "cool" channels. So exciting! And oh yeah, I guess we did have quite a bit of birthdays this month. So happy birthday to Bethany, Lance, Timi, Ed and Larraine. That's
